Carlos is a prominent Nicaraguan entrepreneur with a rich history in the industrial and export sectors with a career spanning over 27 years. In the past he has been actively involved in negotiations related to free trade agreements between the United States and Nicaragua, including initiatives like the Caribbean Basin Initiative (CBI), DR-CAFTA and the development and writing of the Nicaraguan Free Trade Zone Legislation. 

 Carlos significant impact extends to the corporate world. He founded Confecciones de Nicaragua in 1994, which at the time was the first 100% Nicaraguan-owned light manufacturing company. In 1997, he established KNITWEAR, which grew to become Nicaragua's largest knitwear manufacturing company, employing over 1,400 workers. In 2000 he founded of Zonas Industriales Privadas Argeñal, S.A (ZIPSA), he has grown the company to two industrial parks in Managua covering over 70,000 square meters of construction as President and CEO.
